Healthcare 311 Privacy Policy

Internet privacy and security is an issue that we take seriously. Healthcare 311 is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information. We believe it is important for you to know what information is being collected about you, how that information is being used, with whom it is being shared, and how to contact us if you have additional questions or concerns.

What information does Healthcare 311 gather/track, and how is it used?

Information gathered online can be categorized as either anonymous or personally identifiable. Anonymous information is information that cannot be traced back to a specific individual. For example, Healthcare 311 knows how many searches are queried each day at each of its Web sites - but does not know the names, e-mail addresses or gender of the people searching.

Personally identifiable information is information you might provide a website that lets it know specific facts about you to customize the information that site delivers to you. This information can include your name, address, zip code, age, medications used, health conditions, etc. Healthcare 311 does not ask for that information in a way that permits personal identification. For example, while you may enter a city and state to identify retail clinics in or near that location, Healthcare 311 has no conclusive means of identifying you or your location based on that entry, or of combining that information with any other data that identifies you as the specific requestor of that information.

Gathering and Use of Anonymous Information

Each time a visitor comes to Healthcare 311 or a Healthcare 311-enabled web site, we collect some information to improve the overall quality of the online experience, including product monitoring, product improvement, and targeted sponsorship or advertising. At Healthcare 311-enabled websites, we collect the visitor's domain name (e.g. whether the user is logged on from compaq.com or whitehouse.gov), referral data (e.g., we record the address of the last URL a user visited prior to clicking through to an Healthcare 311 Web site), and browser and platform type (e.g., a Internet Explorer browser on a Windows platform).

In addition to collecting this kind of information, Healthcare 311 collects aggregate queries for internal reporting and targeted sponsorship or advertising messages. We also count, track, and aggregate the visitor's activity into our analysis of general traffic flows at our sites (e.g. tracking where traffic comes from). We may merge information about you into group data, which may then be shared on an aggregated basis with our sponsors or advertisers.

Use Of 'Cookies'

Healthcare 311's Web sites do not use cookies to monitor traffic flow, patterns of travel within and through the sites, and to dynamically generate sponsorship or advertising and content. Cookies are a standard Internet technology that allows websites to both store and retrieve login information.

A registrant's personal contact and demographic information will not be released to third party or non-participating organizations without the user's consent, and Healthcare 311 will require that co-sponsors of such events or services maintain the privacy of the registrants' information. The information will be in the form of grouped statistics compiled from our users' answers to survey questions and on-site behavior. Healthcare 311 will not disclose the contact or demographic information of any individual user to sponsors, advertisers or any other outside organization without the express permission of the individual.

User Research

On occasion, Healthcare 311 will make available to potential sponsors, advertisers and research firms aggregated results from research it has conducted on its user base.
